The annual Make it Rain event in Final Fantasy XIV is here! Let’s talk about what it is and how you can participate.
When is it?
This year, Make it Rain starts July 19th, 2021 at 1:00 AM PDT and runs until August 11, 2021 at 7:59 AM PDT. To start the event questline you’ll need to make your way over to U’ldah Steps of Nald and talk to Ollier at X: 9.4 Y: 9.2. To pick this quest up you’ll have to be at least level 15 and have previously completed one of these three quests: “The Gridanian Envoy,” “The Ul’dahn Envoy,” or “The Lominsan Envoy.”
What’s in it for me?

Why do the quest you ask? Well, you’ll get the above, brand-new “vexed” emote. (Express your frustration to strangers and friends alike!) You’ll also get an MGP bronze card—that’s 5,000 MGP. After completing Ollier’s quest, make sure you speak with the Stern Saucer Attendant located at X: 6.2, Y: 6.8 in the Gold Saucer to receive the emote and “Objection!” achievement.
MGP Farmers Rejoice
In addition to the quest rewards, you’ll also earn 50% more MGP throughout Make it Rain’s duration making it the perfect time to farm for MGP. Certain prizes will also be available at a discount. Discounted items include The Crystal Tower striker, Monster Toss machine, and Cuff-a-Cur machine furnishings. New items available from the Campaign Attendant (X: 5.3, Y: 6.3) include a Senorita Sabotender minion for 21,000 MGP, a Cactuar Stool for 1,400 MGP, and a Cactuar Round Table for 2,100 MGP.
